Turn-by-turn directions

We start our hike at the alpine hotel Sonnenklause and follow the paved road towards east. After about 400 m we turn left and follow the way which now leads us steadily upwards. After about 1,6 km we reach the Altstädter Hof, where we can take a break. Just before we reach the restaurant, a gravel path braches off on the right which we follow until we come across the "Oberallgäuer Rundwanderweg", respectively a section of "Wandertrilogie Himmelsstürmer" (alternative route). We follow the signage of "Wandertrilogie Himmelsstürmer" and continue walking on this trail. On the right side of the Gernkopf (1566 m) we cross the so-called Hühnermoos and we climb up to the Oberer Kohlersberg to a height of 1632 m. We continue uphill and after about 1 km we reach the peak of the Sonnenkopf (1712 m). We proceed across the Heidelbeerkopf (1767 m) until we reach the highest point of the tour: the Schnippenkopf at 1833 m. After having enjoyed the fantastic view, we climb down and reach the Falken-Alpe (closed) after 700 m. At this point we turn right and leave the section of "Wandertrilogie Himmelsstürmer" (alternative route) and the "Oberallgäuer Rundwanderweg". We stay on the path which steadily leads downwards and after about 1,5 km we reach a gravel path, which passes the Entschen-Alpe (closed). Now we hike for 1 km on a paved road, at a fork we stay straight and continue on a 400 m long path. Finally we turn right and hike back to the Sonnenklause.
