Directly next to the "Hörmoos", numerous different plants and herbs grow in the large garden. They are all harvested by the hut owner Michel Schneider according to the solar and lunar calendar.
Liqueurs of cherry, plum or pear can't be found here. The reason is, that the operators of the distillery only want to use raw materials that grow at an altitude of 1300 m. Therefore, there is gentian brandy, made from the roots of the beautiful alpine flower, Allgäu gin from around 20 mountain herbs, rowanberry brandy and elderberry cuvee.
The distillery can be visited every Monday at 1:30 pm or by appointment. Then the production method of the liqueurs and noble brandies is explained – and of course you are invited to the tasting. The sales stand is open from mid-May to early November.
Guests can stop for refreshments right next door at the "Alpe Hörmoos" mountain inn.
